The Lindenwood men's and women's track and field teams started their season over the weekend at the Washburn Rust Buster held in Topeka, Kan. The Lions showed little rust in winning six events, while setting 18 personal bests and establishing several meet records.
Samuel Yaro, returning all-American in the 400 and the 4x400, started the season on a fast note by winning the 400 in 47.91, which is a NCAA Championship provisional mark. Yaro also ran the second leg of the 4x400 team that established a new meet record.
