Shotgun sports finished second in collegiate competition at the National Sporting Clays Association (NSCA) Nationals competition October 27-30 at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio, Texas. The Lions team of Matthew Blankenship (262), Tristan Stubbs (260), Reece Sparks (254), Konnor Vohs (248), and Grace Corselli (247) combined to hit 1,271/1,500 targets, coming up just two shy of collegiate champion Schreiner University.
Corselli also had the opportunity to participate in the first annual Super Squad. This squad placed her with other ladies of similar skill level and allowed the competition to stay fierce. Super squad highlights can be found on the NSCA YouTube channel.
Individually, Lindenwood took home multiple awards. Stubbs finished fifth in the High Overall International Concurrent standings with a score of 260/300. Thomas Gjelsvik finished 12
th in A Class with 237/300. Casey Byrd took eighth in C Class with a 232/300. Katelynn Decker finished third in D Class, competing in her first NSCA Nationals with a score of 235/300. Decker and Byrd both won the ladies category for their respective classes.
In the Women's Collegiate Concurrent, Corselli finished as overall runner-up with a score of 247. Decker took fourth, and Byrd sixth.
