Women's rugby defeated the St. Louis Sabres rugby club 47-19 Saturday afternoon at Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Missouri.

The Lions took an early lead in the match when
Sydney Julich darted into the zone from 40-meters, but several penalties stifled Lindenwood in the following moments until
Jayleen Rivera broke free off a turnover in the Lions half of the field. Flanker
Charlotte Roberts followed with a line-break, and then a penalty try gave Lindenwood a 22-5 lead at the break.
The Lions did concede a couple of tries in the second half, but scores from
Ava Denner, Jenna Nielsen,
Kamryn Tabor, Julich, and
Makena Taumoepeau sealed the victory.

The Lions hit the road for a D1 Elite match against Life University November 12. The opening kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Lupo Family Field in Marietta, Georgia.
