Shotgun sports won the Team High Overall title at the ACUI Lower Midwest Super Shoot February 5-6 at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio, Texas.  The Lions hit a total of 1,669 targets to tie with Texas A & M University, before ultimately winning the event via tiebreaker.   
 
Multiple team members earned personal awards for their performances. Reece Sparks finished third in the High Overall Male competition, hitting 341/350 targets in the four events.  Konnor Vohs took third in Sporting Clays, Casey Byrd won the Ladies High Overall title, Gigi Mitchell was the Ladies Trap Champion, and Ethan Boyer hit 50 of 50 targets and ultimately finished as runner up in Super Sporting. 
 
In team competition, Lindenwood won the Sporting Clays event outright with a score of 458/500.  The Lions tied with Schreiner University in both the Super Sporting and American Trap events, and finished fourth in team Skeet.  Winning the High Overall championship ultimately came down to five outstanding finishes in the Super Sporting Event from Boyer (50), Kelan Kinion (48), Sparks (48), Vohs (47), and Harley Brasher (46).
 
The Lower Midwest Super Shoot is often recognized as a dry run for the ACUI Collegiate Clay Target Championships in late March, so the Lions performance was a good test and measure of what could come.   
 
Shotgun sports will next compete at the Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA) Spring Satellite Grand competition February 18-21 at Tucson Trap & Skeet in Tucson, Arizona.
