Shotgun sports hosted its second annual Lions Spring Open shoot at Gateway Gun Club in Bridgeton, Missouri and the Nilo Farms facilities in Olin, Illinois February 26-27. Concordia, Cumberland, Drury, Hillsdale University, Iowa Central, Iowa State, Iowa Western, Midland, Simpson, Upper Iowa, Wayne State, and William Penn all battled for the High Overall (HOA) title.

Because of weather conditions, Lindenwood was only able to compete in the sporting clays event. The Lions won that competition with a total of 475/500, with

Ethan Blaettner (92) contributing to the team score. Freshman

William Penn ultimately claimed the Team HOA title for the weekend with a score of 1,422/1,500, topping Hillsdale by a single target. Midland finished in third place.Â
