The Lindenwood women's tennis team fell to WashU in a tight 4-5 dual match at WashU on Saturday evening.
In singles play,
Claire Martin defeated WashU's Divya Sharma in two sets (6-4, 6-2). Two more Lions also found success in their singles matches-
Natalia Cordero won 6-3 then 7-6, while
Paula Sostres Pico took home 6-2 and 6-3 wins.
The only doubles-pairing of the day to come away with a win was the duo of Martin and
Jordan Le, who beat their opponents Hannah and Katherine Johnston 8-6. Martin and Le went undefeated as a doubles pair in the fall season, beating their opponents from Lewis and Clark 6-2 and Maryville 6-4. Martin also has yet to lose in singles, going 2-0 this fall.
Next, the Lions will travel to Principia College on Saturday for another exhbition match, this time with a 2:00 p.m. start.
