Shotgun Sports took multiple titles at the Miner Classic, hosted by Missouri S & T March 5-6 at the Winchester Trap and Skeet range and Nilo Farms Facilitiesin Olin, Illinois. The Lions shot in Skeet and Trap on Saturday and finished the weekend on Sunday at the Nilo Sporting Clays course.

In Trap,
Trace Hatfield took the High Overall (HOA) title with a score of 98/100. He tied with
Klayton McGee and a reverse run tiebreaker was used to determine the winner. Additionally, Lindenwood won the team title in the event with 485/500. McGee (98), Hatfield (98), and
Collin Murer (97) posted the highest three scores for the Lions, while the final two scores came from eight shooters who all tied with 96. That list included
Sam Korbs,
Casey Byrd,
Morgan Baine,
Chloe Turasky,
Gigi Mitchell,
Wyatt Newby,
Marcus Reed, and
Ethan Mathias.

Lindenwood claimed the team and individual HOA titles in Skeet as well.
Ryan Loveless hit 97/100 targets to get the HOA award, while freshman
Konnor Vohs and Eli Tollefson each posted scores of 96/100. In the team event, Loveless (97), Vohs (96), Tollefson (96), Hatfield (94), Korbs (94), and
Ryan Pena (94) combined for 477/500 to give the Lions the team victory. Â

In Sporting Clays, Vohs took the HOA title with a 98/100 for Lindenwood. Korbs finished second with 94/100, and
Ethan Boyer and
Thomas Gjelsvik tied for third with 92/100. In the team event, Vohs (98), Korbs (94), Boyer (92), Gjelsvik (92), and Pena (90) combined for 466/500 to win.

Men's and Women's HOA awards were both won by freshmen Lions. Vohs hit 284/300 to take the combined events title, while
Casey Byrd hit a combined 272/300 to win the women's title. Lindenwood also took the Team HOA title with 1,428/1,500.

The shotgun sports team will conclude its season at the ACUI Collegiate Clay Target National Championships March 22-27 in San Antonio, Texas.
