The shotgun sports team has racked up some nice hardware so far this summer with multiple Lions winning state championships, class wins, and High Overall awards in multiple shoots.
Tristan Stubbs, named 2022-23 sporting clays captain, won the High Overall at the Eastern Cape FITASC Open Tournament. Stubbs, who has spent most of his summer coaching and setting FITASC and Compak targets at his local club for students and patrons, will compete for South Africa in the 2022 World FITASC Championship in Orvieta, Italy July 14-17.

Konnor Vohs took Master 1
st in the White Flyer Cup side-event at the 2022 Kansas State FITASC and Five-stand Tournament. Vohs continues to place high at events all over the country, competing in multiple regional championships.
Sophomore
Jake Deane took multiple awards at the Kansas State FITASC and Five-stand Tournament. Deane won the Five-Stand Championship in B Class outright, also taking runner-up in the FITASC event. Deane also won B Class and Junior Runner-up at the Eagles Nest AFS Championship, pushing him to the top of the AFS Class Tour standings with a perfect 2.0 in points. Deane also tied for fifth in B Class in the 2022 World English FITASC.

Trace Hatfield started the summer with a bang by winning AA Class in both the Main and FITASC at the Gamaliel Cup. Hatfield took home a few trophies and earned enough punches to make it into Master Class. Hatfield also took Junior Champion honors at the Ohio Cup and Buckeye Cup in late June.
Senior
Ethan Mathias ventured into sporting clays competition this summer and found success. He won the Kansas State FITASC in D Class and the .410 Sporting competition in his class. Mathias also took D Class honors in the White Flyer Cup and garnered enough punches to make it to C Class, and took AFS C Class Championship at the Ohio Cup. He also took Junior Gold runner-up at the Missouri State Handicap Championship.
A Lindenwood squad of shooters took multiple trophies at the 11
th Annual Junior U.S. Open Championship.
Matthew Blankenship,
Ryan Pena, and
Reece Sparks combined to take Collegiate Team Second in the main event. The Lions fielded another squad for the preliminary tournament where
Marcus Reed and
Christian Jackowski won the collegiate trophy.
Finally, sophomore
Jessilyn White won Singles and Handicap in the Lady I category at the Bob O'Brien Memorial Shoot.
The shotgun sports team is expected to begin its 2022-23 season in September.
Senior Ethan Mathias
