Shotgun sports began its season with the overall victory at the Drury University Panther Classic September 10-11 at Ozark Shooters in Springfield, Missouri and Springfield Rod and Gun Club in Walnut Shade, Missouri. The Lions captured the champion awards in each event, with multiple individual accolades as well.
In American Skeet, Lindenwood shooters Klayton Mcgee (99),
Christian Jackowski (98),
Ryan Loveless (98),
Ryan Pena (98), and
Tristan Stubbs (98) shot a team score of 491/500 to take team HOA in the event.
Jolene Dawson took Ladies Skeet Champion with a notable 97/100.
In American Trap, Lions Skylar Marshall (99), Klayton Mcgee (98),
Trace Hatfield (98), Ian Freeman (98), and Charlie Mitchell (98) combined to shoot a team score of 491/500 to take the team title for the event. Notable achievements included a 99 from Skylar Marshall to take the Ladies trap HOA for the event. That score tied for the highest trap score of all shooters throughout the weekend.

Tristan Stubbs (94),
Reece Sparks (92), Grace Corselli (92),
Ryan Pena (91), and
Matthew Blankenship (91) combined to shoot an untouchable 460/500 to take yet another team title in the event. Notable trophies included Ladies Sporting for Corselli and a tie for high Men's Sporting score from Stubbs.
In the 50-bird 5-stand, Stubbs shot the high score for the Lions with 48, while
Reece Sparks,
Ryan Pena,
Thomas Gjelsvik, Grace Corselli,
Harley Brasher, and
Matthew Blankenship all shot 47 to combine for a team score of 236/250. For individual awards, Stubbs tied for men's champion while Corselli won ladies champion outright.
For Team HOA,
Tristan Stubbs (335),
Reece Sparks (328),
Ryan Pena (326), Klayton Mcgee (326), and
Christian Jackowski (325) combined to score a 1,640/1,750 to take the championship. Lindenwood shooters swept the individual HOA awards with
Tristan Stubbs (335) winning the men's title and Grace Corselli (323) winning the lady's title.
The Panther Classic drew schools from Missouri and Arkansas and included Drury University (Mo.) Hannibal – Lagrange (Mo.), Missouri Valley, Culver – Stockton (Mo.), State Fair (Mo.), University of the Ozarks (Ark.), and William Woods (Mo.).
Shotgun Sports is back on the road for the FLC CP Open September 30-October 1. Competition begins at 8 a.m. Friday morning at the FLC Shooting Grounds in White Hall, Illinois.
