Women's Rugby Head Coach Trevor Locke
National Championship in early December. He previously served as assistant coach for the team from 2020-2022 and 2016-2018, also spent time as a Lindenwood men's rugby assistant coach, and played for the Lions for two seasons.
The appointment of Locke came after a three-month national search.
"We are excited to have coach Locke as our new head coach for the women's rugby program," stated Coomer. "As we went through the national search process, it was clear that he was the best and right candidate to lead our program. Today is a great day for Lindenwood women's rugby!"
Locke was happy about the appointment as well.
"I am super excited to continue being a part of the program in a new role and look forward to maintaining the excellence the team has had over the last seven years," Locke said. "To be given the opportunity to keep working with such a great group of student-athletes and staff is extremely humbling and I cannot be thankful enough."
After winning the 15's national title in December, women's rugby now has its sights set on the sevens season and returns to the pitch for the Life University Sevens Tournament April 1 in Marietta, Georgia.
