Multiple Lions earned top honors at the Southwestern Grand American Trapshooting Championships September 16-17 at the KTA Trap Park in Wichita, Kansas. The event included 16-yard Singles, Doubles, and Handicap competition.
In the Singles Championship,
Wyatt Williams,
Landon Sievers, and
Jacob Diller all shot perfect 200's to enter a shoot-off where Sievers hit another 124 to win, with Diller claiming Junior Gold Champion and Williams finishing as runner-up. In other action,
Wyatt Baine won AA Champion with a 198/200 and
Grace Corselli finished third in Lady 1 competition with a score of 198 after a shoot-off with Shay Skaggs.
In the Fiocchi Doubles Championships, Corselli won B Class with a 95+19 after a shoot-off while Sage Mckeough won Lady 1 with a 97+19 after a shoot-off. Sievers won the Junior Gold category and earned a spot in a shoot-off for the overall title with Lions
Aidan Master and
Kelan Kinion.
In the Winchester Handicap Championship,
Matthew Keist tied for event champion and won Junior Gold Champion with a 98/100. Sievers came in third place overall with a 96/100, putting him into a shoot-off.
Wyatt Williams won the High Overall title by hitting a total of 1,072 targets. Sievers claimed the Junior Gold HOA award with 1,063. In High All-Around, Keist tied for AA Champion with 389 and
Landon Sievers won Junior Gold with a 394.
Shotgun sports returns to competition at the Missouri Fall Handicap September 23-24 at the Missouri Trap Association Homegrounds in Linn Creek, Missouri.
