LAST TIME OUT
In their first game of the 2024 season, the Lions won 20-6 in commanding fashion over San Diego State to start of their second year in NCAA Division I. The Lions would come out firing out the gate, scoring 13 goals in the half. Strong defense by the Lions would hold the Aztecs to only three goals in the first half. In the second half, the Lions would continue their scoring frenzy, tallying seven goals in the half while only holding the Aztecs to three.
MATCHUP PREVIEW
The Lions sit 1-0 through one matchup. Graduate student,
Logann Eldredge, leads the Lions in points with eight. Freshman,
Alissa Digiacinto, is second on the team in points with six.
Sara Grieco leads the Lions in assists with three. At the logo,
Ryleigh Cavanaugh leads the Lions in draw controls with 11. On the defensive side of the ball,
Mandy Beck leads the Lions in ground balls with five and caused turnovers with two.
Elizabeth Goth and
Haylie Sims spent time in net for the Lions in their win against the Aztecs.
This will be the first time in program history the Lions will take on the Highlanders.
The Highlanders on the year are 0-1 after falling to George Mason in their season opener, 16-8. In their first matchup, Mady Cheney led the Highlanders in goals and points with five. Josie Helpard led the Highlanders in caused turnovers with three. Ava LaManna and Olivia Hunter spent time in net for the Highlanders in their first matchup making a combined seven saves.
