In 2023, the Lions went 8-10 and 3-4 in the Atlantic Sun (ASUN), making the conference tournament in their first year of NCAA Division I. In their last matchup of the year, the Lions fell to Coastal Carolina by a score of 17-11.
Matchup Preview
Lindenwood was picked as the fifth favorite team to win the ASUN. The Lions return three of their top five leading scorers in 2023.
Logann Eldredge, led the Lions in points with 80 in 2023. Eldredge in 2023 was named to All-ASUN Second Team, and prior to the start of this year, the Utah native was tabbed to Preseason All-ASUN Team.
Isabella Rulapaugh was second on the team in points with 43, in her sophomore campaign.
Sara Grieco in her senior season was fifth on the team in scoring with 27 points. On the defensive side of the ball, the Lions return
Kelsey Long,
Kym Ardrey and
Elizabeth Goth. Long was named to the 2024 Preseason All-ASUN Team based upon her play in 2023, leading the Lions in groundballs with 30, caused turnovers with 15, and was second on the team in draw controls with 50. Ardrey in 2023, contributed 16 groundballs and was second on the team in caused turnovers with ten. Goth in her freshman campaign, was named to the ASUN All-Freshman Team, after making 31 saves.
This will be the second time in program history the Lions will take on San Diego State. In their last matchup (March 22, 2023), the Lions fell to the Aztecs 15-9.
This will also be the Aztecs' first game of the season. In 2023, the Aztecs went 6-10, earning wins over California, Kent State, High Point, Howard, Lindenwood, and Arizona State. The Aztecs return three of their top five leading scorers from the previous year.
