CANTON, Mo. - Lindenwood women's track and field posted seven finishes in the top three on Friday afternoon at the Culver-Stockton Invitational. Two runners also competed at the Indiana State Meet on Thursday resulting in a new school record in the heptathlon.
Kinsey Dueker was one of the athletes to travel to Terre Haute, Ind. on Thursday, April 17th and did not disappoint breaking the new school record in the heptathlon with an overall score of 4556. Dueker also finished eighth overall out of 27 athletes.
Mireya Simpson also finished with a final score of 3920 good for 21st.
Over in Canton, Mo., the rest of the Lindenwood Lions competed at the Culver-Stockton Invitational.
Kadence Berry was one of two Lions to finish with a first-place time after posting a final time of 19:12.49 in the 5000m. Last week's co-OVC Female Track Athlete of the Week
Sa'Nijah Houston also finished in first in the 200m with a time of 23.92. That time also ranks fourth at Lindenwood.
Chanel Honeywell posted two second place finishes at Culver-Stockton with silver times in the 200m (24.33) and in the 100m (11.91). Honeywell now ranks sixth all-time in school history in the 200 and eighth all-time in the 100. Honeywell and Houston were also part of the second place 4x4 relay team that also included
Ashantae Brown and
Jyrah Powell (4:00.22). The final two top three finishers were Houston in the 100 with a time of 12.10 and Brown in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:07.41.
