The Lindenwood women's wrestling team returns to the mat this weekend at the NWCA National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The Lions will face Presbyterian in the opening round, set to get underway at 10:00 a.m. CT on Friday.
Last Time Out
LU took part in the North Central College Invitational in Naperville on December 14th, with
Jacinda Espinosa posting a sixth-place finish at 138 lbs. It was Espinosa's third individual placement of the season.
Saki Yoshikawa (117 lbs.) also had a strong outing, winning three consecutive matches in the consolation bracket after dropping her first-round bout, concluding the day with a 3-2 record.Â
Kate Cooper (110 lbs.) andÂ
Sienna Caruso (103 lbs.) posted 2-2 records with one pin apiece.Â
Lindenwood at the NWCA Duals
This will be Lindenwood's fourth time competing in the NWCA National Duals after not taking part last season. In 2023-24, the Lions went 3-2 over the two-day event to secure a sixth-place finish.

- The Lions are ranked 23rd overall in the National Wrestling Coaches Association poll.
- Jacinda Espinosa is ranked seventh nationally and second regionally at 138 lbs.
- Four other Lions are ranked regionally, including Kate Cooper (4th, 110 lbs.), Saki Yoshikawa (5th, 117 lbs.), Laney Duggan (5th, 160 lbs.), and Makayla Rivera (4th, 180 lbs.).
Fantastic Freshmen
- Jacinda Espinosa (138) is 16-6 this season, leading the Lions in both wins and pins (6). She took first place in the Luther Hill Invitational, placed fourth at the Missouri Valley Open, and finished sixth at the North Central Invitational.
- Saki Yoshikawa (117) also had a strong first half, posting a record of 12-7 with three falls. She placed third at the Luther Hill Invitational.
- Grace Alagbo is 8-3 on the season with one pin. She also recorded a third-place finish at the Luther Hill Invitational.
- Madeline Haynes has impressed thus far, posting a record of 6-3 with a bronze medal performance at the Luther Hill Invitational.
