OZARK, Mo. – The Lindenwood beach volleyball team split their final two matches at the Beach Bear Bash on Saturday.
Lindenwood started the day with a 5-0 sweep of Southwest Baptist. The Lions took all but one set in the match, with
Abby Jacobs and
Annalie McWhorter being pushed to three set at the ones (21-12, 21-23, 16-14).
Lindenwood's next three pairs all secured 2-0 wins, with
Susanna Beretti and
Gabby Belcher taking the twos (21-14, 21-11),
Aubrey Sheppard and
Katie Bockhorst prevailing at the threes (21-9, 21-11), and
Lexie Schauffler and
Jade Roth winning at the fours (21-17, 21-16).
Lindenwood's No. 5 pair of
Dixie Farish and
Morgan Willis picked up a 1-0 win (21-11) to complete the sweep for the Lions.
Lindenwood fell 0-5 in the weekend finale against Missouri State.
Nyah Wilson and
Susanna Beretti were the only LU pair to push their matchup past two sets, falling 1-2 (18-21, 21-18, 8-15) at the ones.
Next Up
The Lions host their only two home matches of the regular season next weekend. Lindenwood will face Eastern Illinois for their OVC opener on Saturday, March 7th at 3:00 p.m. before hosting McKendree at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday for Senior Day.
