Lacrosse Opens Conference Play With Pair of Home Games This Week

The Lindenwood lacrosse team (3-5) returns home to begin conference play. The Lions will take on Liberty on Thursday before a matchup with Delaware on Saturday. Both games are set to begin at 12:00 p.m.

Last Time Out

The Lions saw their three-game winning streak come to an end last time out in a high-scoring 16-15 loss to New Hampshire. The Lions trailed 7-1 early and clawed back within one late, but were unable to complete the comeback. Luci Selander paced the offense with six total points, coming from five goals and one assist. Reese Krieger added four goals, while Tatum Bryant and Alissa DiGiacinto chipped in three.

DiGiacinto was also a big factor in the circle, compiling 15 draw controls. She now has 58 draw controls on the year, more than she had all last season.

A Win Would
- Give Lindenwood a win to open conference play for the second consecutive season
- Improve the Lions' home record to 3-1
- Give Lindenwood first win over Liberty in the season series

Scouting Liberty
- Liberty enters the matchup with a 2-5 overall record
- Both wins for Liberty have come on the road
- The offense is led by Sophia Nesci who has 23 points on 14 goals and nine assists
- Ava Rajala has dished out eight assists which is second on the team
- Liberty has five players with 10 or more caused turnovers on the year led by Katie Colavito with 15
- Rachel Hines has started all seven games in net and has a .417 save percentage

Scouting Delaware
- The Blue Hens are in their first year in the ASUN after being in the CAA previously
- As of Wednesday, Delaware holds a record of 3-4
- Delaware has one win on the road so far this season
- Ella Rishko paces the offense with 21 goals and five assists
- Sophia Muscolino leads the team with 11 assists so far this season
- Steph Marszal has started seven games in net and has a 9.57 goals against average
