The Lindenwood women's golf team finished its 2010-11 season on Friday afternoon when it came in 20th at the NAIA National Championship. The Lady Lions improved by three spots over last year's national finish.
The Lady Lions recorded a team score of 1,421 at the event. The highlight came on day three of the competition when Lindenwood shot a 337, its best score of the spring season.
HAAC MVP Claudia Rojas led Lindenwood at the event by shooting a 331. After an opening round 88, she shot 82, 82 and 79 for the rest of the tournament.
Emily Tebow was second on the team with a score of 348. Her top round came on Thursday when she shot an 80. Grace Weber had a final total of 358, including two rounds of 358. Justiene Decock concluded the event with a 384. The team's final member, Shantel Roberts withdrew after having a score of 321 through three rounds.
Day Four Recap
Lindenwood stayed in 20th place on the final day of the national championship despite shooting its highest round of the tournament with a 366.
Rojas finished off a strong tournament for her with a 79, the only round for Lindenwood under 80 at the event. She shot a one-over-par 37 during her final nine holes, with six pars, two bogeys, and a birdie.
Tebow also had a good final nine holes with a six-over-par42, and she had a total of 89 on the day. Weber recorded a 94 and Decock shot a 104 in their final rounds of the season.
Day Three Recap
Lindenwood had four golfers shoot under 90 in the third round as the team shot a 337 and moved up to 20th in the team standing.
Tebow recorded a team-high 80 after having eight pars and recording birdies on two of the final eight holes.
Rojas repeated her round two score with an 82.That round included pars on half of the holes. Decock shaved eight shots off her previous best round with an 87, and Weber shot an 88 on the day. Roberts also had a tournament-best on day three with a 104.
Day Two Recap
Lindenwood was one of 13 teams in the field to improve its score during the second round. The Lady Lions shot a 356 and moved up one spot in the team standing to a tie for 21st.
Rojas had the best round with an 82. Her round was highlighted by two birdies and she also collected seven pars.
Tebow was one shot better with an 89, and she finished one stroke better than teammate Weber. Decock shot a 95 and Roberts had a 105, both improvements over the first round.
Day One Recap
The Lady Lions struggled on day one, with just one golfer shooting below their season average. Lindenwood finished the day in 22nd place with a score of 362.
The Lady Lions were led on day one by Grace Weber who finished the opening round shooting an 86. She recorded one birdie and six pars for the round.
Other first-round scores included Claudia Rojas shooting an 88, Emily Tebow having a 90, Justine Decock carding a 98, and Shantel Roberts finished the opening day with a 112.
