The women's golf team won its 11th straight conference championship on Tuesday with a six-shot victory at the 2010 HAAC Championship.
Emily Tebow won medalist honors after shooting the best round of the tournament during Tuesday's final round.
Lindenwood opened the tournament with a 351 and had a 10 shot advantage over Avila. The Eagles put pressure on the Lady Lions during the final second round, as Avila took 20 shots off its first round score. Lindenwood also improved though by six shots which was good enough for its victory.
The team's final round score of 696 was Lindenwood's best score of the spring and just the second time that it has broken 700 during this semester.
Tebow has led Lindenwood in every tournament but one this spring and continued her hot play at the conference meet. She opened the tournament with an 83 and was two shots behind teammate
Grace Weber, the first round leader. On Tuesday, Tebow shot a 79 to win the individual title. That score was the lowest of the tournament and just the second time that Tebow broke 80 this year.
Claudia Rojas and Weber also earned all-conference honors. Rojas shot a 169, including a low round of 82 on Tuesday, and finished fourth. Weber came in sixth with a final score of 173.
Rounding out the squad was
Katrina Walker and #Justine# Decock. Walker finished 15th with a 192 and Decock was 23rd with a 200.
Rojas was named the HAAC Player of the Year following the competition, and Tebow was runner-up for that honor.
With the victory, Lindenwood earns an automatic bid to the 2010 NAIA National Championship. That event will take place on May 25-28 in Rapid City, S.D.
