The Lindenwood women's golf team had its third second-place finish of the fall season on Tuesday at the Trevecca Nazarene Invitational.
Marcella Ax was the top individual at the competition, winning the event by two strokes.
In the team competition, Lindenwood was in second-place by 15 strokes after 18 holes with a 337 score. The Lady Lions held that position after shooting a 333 on day two and finished with a 670. Lindenwood finished 30 shots behind Cumberland and seven shots ahead of the rest of the pack which included Trevecca Nazarene, Tennessee Wesleyan, and Martin Methodist.
The individual race was closer. Ax shot a 77 during the first round of competition and had a one-shot lead over Cumberland's Allyson Agee. Agee had another good round with a 77 on Tuesday, but Ax was one better again with a 76. Ax finished with a 153.
Julieta Rotzinger was second on the team and seventh overall with a 166. She shot identical rounds of 83.
Kasey McCammack finished eighth with a 168, including an 82 on Tuesday.
Jill Eader finished with a 183, and
Sarah Fraser carded a 189.
Two Lady Lions competed as individuals at the event.
Shelby Soutier shot a 184 and
Isabel Mersch shot a 212.
Lindenwood concludes its fall season on Oct. 21-22 at its annual Lindenwood Invitational.
