The Lindenwood women's golf team fell in a dual on Monday and Tuesday against Maryville. The Lady Lions fell by a score of 661-666 in the closely fought contest.
Maryville shot a 331 in the first round and had a four shot lead over Lindenwood. In the second round, Maryville had a 330, compared to a 331 for the Lady Lions.
The difference came at the top and the bottom of the two lineups. Maryville's Kayla Eckelkamp won medalist honors with a 149, 10 shots better than Lindenwood's leader,
Julieta Rotzinger. Lindenwood's
Marcella Ax and Megan Burgress finished third and fourth overall, respectively. Maryville took the next four slots though to capture the team victory.
Rotzinger finished with a 159, including a 78 in the second round. Ax finished with a 160 and Burgress was one shot behind that. Both players had a tournament-best round of 79. Coming in fourth for Lindenwood was
Kasey McCammack with a 186. Rounding out the team was
Gabi Hitch with a 193.
Justine Decock competed as an individual and she scored a 199.
Lindenwood will next compete in the Park Invitational which starts next Monday.
