Julieta Rotzinger Wins William Jewell Fall Tune Up

Julieta Rotzinger opened the Lindenwood women's golf season by winning medalist honors on Friday at the William Jewell Fall Tuneup. The Lady Lions finished second out of six teams at the competition.

Rotzinger shot an 82 in the first round and was two shots behind the leader. On Friday, she carded a 74, the best of the tournament by three strokes. She finished with a final score of 156 and won the event by six strokes.

Lindenwood was in the second place after a team score of 343 during the first 18 holes. The Lady Lions surpassed the first round leader, Rockhurst, in day two, but Northwest Missouri jumped both teams after shooting a final round score of 320. Lindenwood had a score of 331 on Friday and finished with a 674, eight shots behind the Northwest Missouri.

Kasey McCammack and Sarah Fraser each tied for ninth for the Lady Lions with scores of 170. Both players shot identical rounds of 87 and 83. Justine Decock finished with a total of 182, including a first round score of 87. Rounding out the team was Jillian Eader who shot a 102, with her best round being a 91.

Shelby Soutier and Isabel Mersch were individuals at the competition. Soutier shot a 187 and Mersch had a 233 for the tournament.

Lindenwood will compete again on Sept. 18-19 at the Screaming Eagles Classic.
