Women's Ice Hockey Goes 2-1 During Weekend's Road Trip

The Lindenwood women's ice hockey team clinched a winning weekend road trip on Sunday with a 5-2 victory over St. Olaf. The Lady Lions have won three out of their last four games, including a 2-1 mark this weekend.

After both teams scored once in the first period, Lindenwood scored the only two goals of the second period to take a 3-1 lead. The Lady Lions went up 4-1 midway through the final period, and then, after a St. Olaf score, Lindenwood iced the victory with a goal with less than four minutes left in the game.

The Lady Lions scored three shorthanded goals to get past St. Olaf. Caitlyn Post and Alyssa West each had two goals, and Kelsey Talbot had the other goal. All three players had one shorthanded goal, and West also scored on the power play. Alison Wickenheiser, Allysson Arcibal, and Jordyn Constance had assists. Taylor Fairchild made 17 saves and earned the win in goal.

Lindenwood goes to 4-21-0 with the victory. The Lady Lions will go for their first NCAA Division I victories next week with a road trip at Sacred Heart.
