Women's Golf Jumps Three Spots To Take Second At Trevecca

The Lindenwood women's golf team rallied back in round two with a score of 322 to jump three places and claim the number two team spot at the Trevecca Nationwide Invitational in Nashville, Tenn. The Lady Lions shot a 351 and sat in fifth place after round one.
 
Alanna Haynes led the Lady Lions in the two-day tournament, posting rounds of 87 and 76 for a fifth place finish overall. Three Lindenwood golfers shot identical two-day scores of 170. Abigail Beirne finished with rounds of 89 and 81, Julieta Rotzinger finished with rounds 87 and 83 and Maddy Piccininni turned in rounds of 88 and 82. Sydney Hawley rounded out the five-member squad with rounds of 91 and 103.
 
Lindenwood had two members compete as individuals, with Ashtin Withers turning in rounds of 89 and 96 and Isabel Mersch completing the event with a first round 101 before bouncing back with a second round 87.
 
Cumberland took home the top team honors, shooting rounds of 326 and 316. Marian University fell nine strokes behind the Lady Lions with a two-day score of 682 for third. Host school Trevecca Nazarene finished the two-day tournament with a 685. Cumberland's Katie Legge earned medalist honors with her rounds of 77 and 78.
 
Lindenwood will wrap up the fall season by hosting the Lady Lions Invitational on October 22 and 23.
