The Lindenwood women's golf team finished in 8
th place overall at the University of Indianapolis Invitational on Monday. The Lady Lions recorded a two-day score of 678 (342-336).
Lindenwood was led by
Alanna Haynes, who posted a two-day score of 164. Haynes turned in an 85 on day one before improving by six strokes on day two, posting a 79.
Abigail Beirne finished with a two-day total of 170 with rounds of 86 and 84.
Julieta Rotzinger also posted a 170 for her two-day total, just with flip-flopped rounds of 84 and 86. Maddy Piccininni turned in a pair of 87's and
Sydney Hawley rounded out the Lady Lions squad with scores of 95 and 92.
Isabel Mersch competed in the event as an individual for the Lady Lions and posted scores of 98 and 102.
California-PA won the 11-team tournament, turning in a two-day total of 606, including a 299 day two score. University of Indianapolis took home second as a team, finishing 14 strokes behind California-PA. Findlay rounded out the top-three with a two-day team score of 628. Maria Lopez of California-PA earned medalist honors with scores of 75 and 74. Haynes finished in a tie for 26
th place.
The Lady Lions will take a couple of weeks off before traveling to Nashville, Tenn. for the Trevecca Nationwide Women's Invitational hosted by Trevecca Nazarene on Oct. 8 and 9.
