The Lindenwood women's golf team carded a 351 on Tuesday afternoon and jumped up a spot to finish in third place overall at the Diffee Ford-Lincoln Invitational in Edmond, Okla. The Lady Lions finished two strokes ahead of East Central after they turned in a round one 337.
Abigail Beirne carded the low round of the day for the Lady Lions on Monday with an 81 (40-41) while
Madelyn Piccininni added an 84 (42-42) to the team score.
Julieta Rotzinger was just one stroke behind Piccininni with an 85,
Alanna Haynes had an 87 and
Sydney Hawley rounded out the top-five with a 92. Beirne's score of an 81 put her in the top-10 in the 38-player tournament.
On day two, Haynes turned in the third lowest round of the day of an 80 to finish in a tie for eighth place overall. Rotzinger followed up her first round 85 with an 86 on Tuesday. Beirne had a 94 to finish in a tie for 19th with Piccininni who scored a round two 91. Hawley turned in a 94 for the Lady Lions.
Rogers State turned in a tournament low-round of 340 in round two to finish in first place overall. Morgan Dockery of Oklahoma Christian held on after a round two 84 to claim medalist honors over teammate Catherine Odgers.
Lindenwood will travel to Lewis on March 23 and 24 for the Perry Park Spring Fling.
