The Lindenwood women's golf team moved into seventh place overall in the 11-team Maryville Spring Invitational on Monday. The Lady Lions posted a round two score of 325 to back up their round one score of 338.
Alanna Haynes carded a 76 on day two that jumped her into a tie for 14th place overall. Haynes finished day one with an 85. Maddy Piccininni backed up her round one 81 with another 81 to move up to a tie for 17th place.
Julieta Rotzinger and
Abigail Beirne improved on day two, turning in a pair of 84's and
Sydney Hawley added a second straight 89.
Ashtin Withers and
Isabel Mersch competed as individuals for Lindenwood. Withers scored a 94 in round two to back up an 85 from day one. Withers finished in 44th place overall. Mersch turned in rounds of 98 and 96 in the two-day event.
Missouri-St. Louis garnered the team victory, turning in a two-day total of 608. Southern Indiana came in second place overall with a 640 and host school Maryville finished in third with a score of 647. The Lady Lions found themselves just nine strokes out of fourth place.
The Tritons Taylor Hoag carded a 76 on day two for a two-day total of 145 to earn medalist honors. Teammate Shweta Galande finished in second with a two-day total of 149.
Lindenwood will hit the links again on April 14 at the Triton Invitational hosted by Missouri-St. Louis.
