The Lindenwood Lady Lions golf team closed out the NCAA Division II Regional on Tuesday afternoon with a sixth place finish. Augustana (S.D.) won the regional shooting a three-round total of 946.
The Lady Lions closed out the tournament with their best score of the weekend shooting a 327. All five golfers shot in the 80s led by
Madelyn Piccininni and
Yolanda Rotzinger who shot an 80.
Alexandra Wheeler shot an 83 while
Alanna Haynes scored an 84, and
Sydney Hawley shot an 88.
For the tournament Piccininni was the highest finisher with a tie for 22
nd. Haynes finished just one shot behind Piccininni and finished in a tie for 27
th while Rotzinger was right behind the duo at 29
th.
Day Two RecapThe Lindenwood women's golf team dropped to a tie for sixth place at the NCAA Division II Regional in Bartlesville, Okla. after shooting a second round total of 336. After day two, the Lions have a total of 664 which has them tied with Minnesota State and 12 shots behind Concordia-St. Paul who is in fifth place.
Madelyn Piccininni was the low golfer of the day for the Lady Lions after shooting an 80 on day two.
Alanna Haynes who opened up with a 79 on day one shot an 84 on day two.
Sydney Hawley shot the third lowest total on day two with an 85.
Yolanda Rotzinger shot an 87 on day two and
Alexandra Wheeler shot a 93.
 Haynes sits in 21
st on the individual side while Piccininni sits in a tie for 27
th. Rotzinger and Wheeler are both in the top 45 at 32
nd and 43
rd respectively while
Sydney Hawley is in 46
th.
The team will conclude the regional on Tuesday afternoon.

The Lady Lions shot a 328 for the first round, and they are nine shots out of third place, which they need to reach to advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships. Augustana lead the tournament with a score of 316.
Lindenwood was led on the afternoon by
Alanna Haynes who shot a 79. She had two of the team's four birdies during the round, and finished the back nine in just three-over.
Yolanda Rotzinger was second on the team with an 81, and
Alexandra Wheeler had an 82. Rounding out the squad were
Madelyn Piccininni with an 86, and
Sydney Hawley with a 95.
Round two of the tournament continues on Monday, and it concludes on Tuesday.
