The Lindenwood women's golf team earned a second-place finish at the Holiday Inn Express Classic played at St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph, Mo. The two-round tournament was hosted by Missouri Western, with play concluding on Tuesday afternoon. The Lady Lions have now finished in the top-five of each of their last seven events dating back to the MIAA Fall Preview on September 28-29.

The Lady Lions opened the tournament with a first round score of 314, placing them third after 18 holes of play, just one stroke behind second place Missouri Western's total of 313. Lindenwood shot a 318 during the second round, wrapping up play with a total team score of 632 after two rounds of play. The Lady Lions strong two rounds landed them in second place, a comfortable three strokes ahead of third place finishers Missouri Western. William Woods won the tournament with a total team score of 614, leading the tournament wire-to-wire.

Maggie Bryant posted consecutive rounds of 77, finishing the tournament in seventh place out of the 61 competing golfers. Bryant finished the tournament tied for the individual lead with five birdies. The top-10 finish was the third of the season for Bryant.

Yolanda Rotzinger wrapped up play in ninth place, posting rounds of 77 and 80. Rotzinger ended play with a 21 pars and four birdies, en route to her fourth consecutive top-10 finish of the season.

The next highest finisher for Lindenwood was Dakota Limkemann who ended the tournament tied for 11th place. Limkemann began the tournament with a first round 80, followed by a 79 during the second round of play. Limkemann posted a team-best 24 birdies during the two-day tournament.  

Madelyn Piccininni and Alanna Haynes rounded out the competing five for the Lady Lions, finishing tied for 15th and 24th, respectively. Piccininni finished play with a score of 162, while Haynes ended with a 166.

Lindenwood will return to action on March 27-28 at the Saluki Invitational in Carbondale, Ill. The tournament will be hosted by Southern Illinois and will be played at the Hickory Ridge Golf Club.
