The Lindenwood women's golf team continued its spring season with a seventh-place finish at the Saluki Invitational in Carbondale, Ill. The two-round tournament, hosted by the University of Southern Illinois, stretched over two-days and included 90 competing golfers from 14 different schools. Play wrapped up on Monday afternoon.
The Lady Lions completed the two-round event with a total team score of 631, just one-stroke behind fifth-place South Dakota. Lindenwood finished seven strokes ahead of eighth-place SIU Edwardsville. After 36 holes, IUPUI and William Woods were tied for first-place, with both teams completing the tournament with team scores of 610. IUPUI finished as the winner after a two-hole playoff against William Woods. The Lady Lions opened play on Sunday with a team score of 319, which was followed by a second-round total of 312.
Natalie Long was the high finisher for Lindenwood, ending play tied for 16th place. Long opened play on Sunday with a 78, before firing a 77 during round two for a 36-hole total of 155. Long posted her two best rounds of the season, beating her previous tournament-low score by 20 strokes. Long finished the tournament tied with
Alanna Haynes for a team-best three birdies.
Madelyn Piccininni finished just behind Long, shooting a two round total of 156, tying her for 19th place. Piccininni began the tournament with an 81 during the first round, before lowering her score by six strokes on day two of the event. Piccininni had a team-high 22 pars.
Dakota Limkemann shot rounds of 80 and 78, tying for 23rd place with a two round total of 158.
Yolanda Rotzinger tied for 25th place, following her scores of 78 and 81.
Maggie Bryant and Haynes finished one stroke apart, finishing tied for 32nd and tied for 36th after posting scores of 160 and 161, respectively.

Lindenwood will return to action on April 11-12 at the Central Region Spring Preview in Springfield, Mo. The two-day tournament will be hosted by Arkansas Tech and will be played at the Rivercut Golf Club.
