The Lindenwood women's golf team completed its regular season with a sixth-place finish at the Central Region Spring Preview from the Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield, Mo. The two-round, two-day tournament hosted by Arkansas Tech featured 19 teams and 99 competing golfers with play wrapping up on Tuesday afternoon.
The Lady Lions began play on Monday with an opening round score of 318, tying them for fourth-place after 18 holes. Lindenwood improved its team score by two strokes during day two of the tournament, posting a 316 on Tuesday. The Lady Lions completed the tournament with a final mark of 634 strokes and sole possession of sixth place. Lindenwood fell one stroke behind Central Oklahoma and Southwest Oklahoma State, who tied for fourth-place at 633. Augustana won the tournament, finishing one stroke in front of second-place Northeastern State.
Maggie Bryant was the highest individual finisher for Lindenwood, finishing in eighth-place. Bryant posted a two round total of 155, en route to earning her fourth top-10 finish of the season. Finishing just behind Bryant was
Dakota Limkemann, who ended the tournament tied for ninth place. Limkemann began the tournament with an opening round score of 82, leaving her tied for 32nd place. However, Limkemann lowered her second round score by eight strokes, for a team-low score of 74, while earning her fourth top-10 finish of the season.
Madelyn Piccininni and
Yolanda Rotzinger finished one stroke apart, tying for 29th and 33rd place, respectively. Piccininni and Rotzinger each began play with first round scores of 80, before Piccininni fired a second round 81, while Rotzinger posted a second round 82.
Also competing for the Lady Lions were
Alanna Haynes and
Natalie Long. Haynes finished tied for 68th place, while Long ended play tied for 20th place. Long, who competed as an individual, earned her third consecutive top-20 finish following her two-round score of 159.
The Lady Lions completed their regular season with top-10 finishes in nine consecutive tournaments. Lindenwood will return to action at the MIAA Tournament in Kansas City, Mo. on April 18-20. The tournament will be held at Swope Memorial Golf Course.
