Women’s Golf Finishes Tenth at NCAA Regional Tournament

Round Three
The Lindenwood women's golf team completed the NCAA Division II Central Region tournament in tenth-place with a total team score of 942. The Lady Lions were one of the 12 competing teams at the three-round tournament being played at Awarii Dunes Golf Club in Axtell, Neb.

Eventual tournament champions, Augustana (S.D.) won the tournament with a total team score of 881. Augustana bested second-place Northeastern State by one stroke. Lindenwood edged 11th place Upper Iowa by two strokes, while finishing 16 strokes behind ninth-place Minnesota State-Mankato.

Madelyn Piccininni had the best finish for the Lady Lions, finishing tied her for 36th place with a three-round score of 233. Piccininni fired a 77 during the final round of play.

Maggie Bryant also shot a 77 during the third round, bringing her three-round total to 255, tying her for 41st place.

Dakota Limkemann and Natalie Long finished one stroke apart, with three round total scores of 238 and 239. Limkemann tied for 48th place, while Long tied for 50th place. 

Yolanda Rotzinger ended play in 60th place. 


Round Two
The Lindenwood women's golf team completed the second round of the NCAA Division II Central Region tournament with a total team score of 315. The Lady Lions are one of the 12 competing teams at the three-round tournament being played at Awarii Dunes Golf Club in Axtell, Neb.

After 36 holes of play, Augustana (S.D.) leads the tournament with a total team score of 584, holding an eight stroke lead over Northeastern State and Missouri Western, who are tied for second-place with 592 strokes. Lindenwood is in sole possesion of 11th place, two strokes behind 10th place Upper Iowa.

Piccininni leads the way for the Lady Lions, posting back-to-back rounds of 78, tying her for 37th place after two rounds of play. Piccininni tallied two birdies and eight pars on Tuesday.

Bryant sits two strokes behind Piccininni, following her team-low second round score of 77. Bryant registered two birdies and nine pars during her second round of play.

Limkemann and Long are tied for 46th place with identical scores of 159, while Yolanda Rotzinger is in 61st place.

The Lady Lions will wrap up play tomorrow morning.

Round One
The Lindenwood women's golf team opened the first round of the NCAA Division II Central Region tournament with a total team score of 314. The Lady Lions are one of the 12 competing teams at the three-round tournament being played at Awarii Dunes Golf Club in Axtell, Neb.

After 18 holes of play, Central Oklahoma and Missouri Western are tied atop the leaderboard, with total team scores of 297. Northeastern State landed in third-place, one-stroke behind Central Oklahoma and Missouri Western. Lindenwood is in sole possession of tenth-place, five strokes behind ninth-place Minnesota State-Mankato.

Long posted the best individual round for Lindenwood, tying for 26th place with a score 77. Finishing one-stroke behind Long, Piccininni and Limkemann tied for 34th place. Piccininni tallied a team-high 12 pars, while Limkemann notched eight.

Bryant and Rotzinger finished the first-round of play tied for 45th and 63rd place, respectively.

The Lady Lions will compete in the second-round of the tournament tomorrow morning.
