The Lindenwood women's golf team finished in 11th-place at the UIndy Fall Invitational on Tuesday afternoon. The two round tournament was played at the Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel, Ind. and featured 17 schools and 93 competing golfers.
The Lady Lions opened the tournament with a first round score of 317, placing the team 11th after 18 holes of play. Lindenwood bested its first round score by a total of three strokes during the second round, shooting a 314. However, the team was unable to move up in the standings, finishing the tournament in 11th-place. The Lady Lions finished nine strokes behind 10th-place Augustana, and 12 strokes in front of 12th-place Illinois-Springfield.
Lindenwood was paced by
Dakota Limkemann, who fired a 152 for the tournament, landing her tied for 23rd-place. Limkemann opened the tournament with a first round 78, before shooting a 74 over the final 18 holes.
Yolanda Rotzinger and
Natalie Long finished one stroke apart, posting scores of 159 and 160, respectively. Rotzinger finished in 51st-place, with a low-round of 78, while Long finished tied for 52nd-place with a low-round of 79.
Maggie Bryant, competing as an individual, finished tied for 55th-place after shooting rounds of 84 and 77.
Josefina Haupt and
Kayleigh Stevens Perez also finished separated by one stroke, following scores of 162 and 163, respectively.
The Lady Lions will return to action on Sep. 26-27 in Warrensburg, Mo. for the MIAA Fall Preview. The tournament will be hosted by Central Missouri and played at the Mules National Golf Club.
