The Lindenwood women's golf team placed first out of 15 competing teams at the MIAA Fall Preview in Warrensburg, Mo. The two round tournament was played at the Mules National Golf Club and was hosted by Central Missouri. With 86 competing golfers, Lindenwood had all nine of its competitors place in the top-30. The Lady Lions won the tournament by eight strokes over second-place Missouri Western.
Lindenwood completed the first round of play with a total team score of 308, landing them four strokes in front of second-place Central Oklahoma. The Lady Lions came out firing on day two, posting a tournament-low round of 301, helping the team secure first-place in the event. For the second time in its three tournaments this season, Lindenwood finished in first-place. The Lady Lions also won the Lindenwood-Belleville Fall Tournament on September 7.
Dakota Limkemann and
Yolanda Rotzinger helped guide Lindenwood to its first-place finish, as both golfers finished the tournament tied for eighth-place with two-round scores of 152. Limkemann and Rotzinger posted identical scorecards, shooting scores of 76 during each round.
Competing as an individual, Regan Snavely had the next best finish for Lindenwood, tying for 11th-place. Snavely followed up her opening round score of 79, with a second round score of 75. Also competing as an individual,
Noelle Johnston landed in 13th-place, finishing one stroke behind Snavely with a score of 155.
Josefina Haupt tied for 14th-place, helped by her opening round score of 75.
Kayleigh Stevens Perez and
Natalie Long tied for 18th-place, following scores of 158. Stevens Perez had a low score of 76 during the first round of play, while Long had a low score of 77 during her second round of play.
Maggie Bryant tied for 23rd-place following her team-best score of 72 during the second round of the tournament.
Alexandra Wheeler also competed for the Lady Lions, finishing tied for 30th-place.
Lindenwood will return to action at the Central Oklahoma Classic on October 2-3. The tournament will be held at the Fairfax Golf Club in Edmond, Okla.
