The Lindenwood women's golf team finished in sixth place at its Fall Invitational on Tuesday afternoon. The two-round tournament was held at the Missouri Bluffs Golf Club in St. Charles, Mo., and featured 13 competing teams.
The Lions began the tournament on Monday with a first-round score of 315, before shooting a 317 during Tuesday's final round. Lindenwood landed one stroke behind fifth-place, Nebraska-Kearney, and three strokes in back of fourth-place, Minnesota State. Missouri-St. Louis won the tournament by eight strokes over second-place, Augustana. Missouri-St. Louis completed the event with a two-round score of 596.
Josefina Haupt was Lindenwood's top-finisher, tying for 10th place amongst the 76 competing golfers. Haupt shot an 80 on Monday, before firing a team-low score of 73 on Tuesday. Haupt's score of 73 is tied for her lowest round of the season. Haupt finished the tournament with 21 pars.
Maggie Bryant tied for 25th place, finishing the tournament with a score of 158. Bryant had her best round on Tuesday, shooting a 78 during the final 18 holes. Bryant completed the event with 19 pars and four birdies.
Dakota Limkemann finished the tournament with a score of 160, tying for 28th place. Limkemann had her best round of the tournament on Monday, completing the first round with a score of 77. Limkemann recorded four birdies for the tournament.
Reagan Snavely, who competed as an individual, also tied for 28th place. Snavely shot a 78 during the final round of play, to secure her best finish of the season.
Yolanda Rotzinger and
Kayleigh Stevens Perez finished one stroke apart, tying for the 30th and 33rd places, respectively. Stevens Perez led Lindenwood with a team-high 22 pars.
Alexandra Wheeler tied for 61st place.
The sixth-place finish concludes Lindenwood's five-tournament fall schedule. The Lions will return to action at the SMSU Spring Invitational in Litchfield Park, Ariz. on March 12-13, 2018.
