The Lindenwood women's golf team secured its third first-place finish of the year on Monday afternoon, winning the Lindenwood Spring Thaw in Cave Creek, Ariz. The tournament was the first of five scheduled tournaments during the spring season for the Lady Lions, featuring six competing teams and 36 individual golfers.
 
Lindenwood began play on Sunday with a first-round score of 313, before shooting a tournament-low score of 306 during the final round of competition. The Lady Lions completed the two-round tournament with a total score of 619, 19 strokes in front of second-place, Southwest Minnesota State.
 
Maggie Bryant led the way for Lindenwood, finishing in first place with a two-round score of 152. After posting scores of 75 and 77, Bryant held a three-stroke lead over the second-place finisher at the end of the tournament.
 
Dakota Limkemann and Natalie Long each tied for third place with scores of 156. Limkemann opened the tournament with a first-round score of 80, before firing a 76 during the final round of play. Long shot a 74 in her first round, before wrapping up the tournament with a score of 82.
 
Kayleigh Stevens Perez landed in seventh place, while Josefina Haupt tied for eighth place. Stevens Perez had a two-round total of 158, while Haupt finished one stroke behind at 159.
 
Yolanda Rotzinger and Noelle Johnston also competed for the Lady Lions, finishing in 11th and 13th place, respectively.
 
Lindenwood will continue its spring schedule on March 16-17 at the Augustana Spring Fling in Palm Desert, Calif.
