The Lindenwood women's golf team took 10th place at the Saluki Invitational at Hickory Ridge in Carbondale, Ill. The tournament, originally scheduled for three rounds was limited to just two rounds due to inclement weather on Monday.
Lindenwood posted a first-round score of 336 on Sunday morning, before rebounding with a second-round score of 318 over the tournament's final 18 holes. The Lady Lions finished with a two-round total score of 654, and finished five strokes behind ninth-place, Fort Wayne. Southern Illinois won the event with a final score of 602, finishing 22 strokes in front of second-place, Loyola.
Maggie Bryant had the highest individual finish for Lindenwood, tying for 17th place. Bryant opened the tournament with a first-round score of 81, before shooting a 78 over her final 18 holes of play. Bryant finished with a team-leading four birdies, tied for the sixth-highest total among the 75 competing golfers.
Yolanda Rotzinger was Lindenwood's next highest finisher, tying for 28th place. Rotzinger began play with a first-round score of 83, and improved by four strokes during her second round.
Dakota Limkemann and
Reagan Snavely each tied for 37th place, while
Natalie Long and
Josefina Haupt each tied for 50th place. Long led Lindenwood with 20 birdies over her two rounds.
Kayleigh Stevens Perez landed in 57th place for the Lady Lions.
Alexandra Wheeler tied for 66th place, and
Noelle Johnston completed play in 68th place.
Lindenwood will return to action on April 1-2 in Maryland Heights, Mo. as it competes in the Maryville Spring Invitational. The tournament will be held at The Quarry Golf Club.
