The Lindenwood women's golf team finished in sixth place at the Central Region Spring Preview on Tuesday afternoon in Springfield, Mo. The two-round tournament was played at Rivercut Golf Course and featured 21 competing teams from within the region.
Lindenwood began the tournament on Monday with a first-round score of 319, before shooting a 311 during the final round to finish in sole possession of sixth place. Lindenwood's second-round score of 311 was tied for the third lowest team score of the round. The Lady Lions finished two strokes behind fourth-place, Southwest Oklahoma State, and one stroke behind fifth-place, Augustana.
Yolanda Rotzinger tied for fifth place among the tournament's 105 competing golfers, and was the top individual golfer for Lindenwood. Rotzinger's top-five finish was her fifth of the season, and was highlighted by seven birdies during her two rounds. Rotzinger opened the tournament with a 77, before shooting a 75 during the final round to finish with a score of 152. Rotzinger's mark of 152 tied for her second lowest two-round score of the season.
Natalie Long finished five strokes behind Rotzinger, tying for 23rd place. Long finished the tournament with a score of 157, and had her low-score of 78 during the first round. Long posted 22 pars throughout her two rounds, tied for the sixth-highest total in the field.
Dakota Limkemann also had 22 pars during her two rounds, tying for 31st place. Limkemann shot a 159 during the tournament, punctuated by her final-round score of 77.
Maggie Bryant and
Josefina Haupt were separated by two-strokes, tying for 44th and 51st place, respectively. Bryant completed play with a score of 163, while Haupt finished at 165. Bryant registered 18 pars during the event.
Lindenwood will return to the course on April 24-26 during the MIAA Championships in Kansas City, Mo. The three-round tournament will be held at Swope Memorial Golf Course.
