The Lindenwood track and field teams competed in the Rumble in the Jungle Last Chance Qualifier on Saturday in Pittsburg, Kan.

Michael Mlambo and
Michelle Kyle both won their events. Mlambo had a mark of 7.10m in the long jump which won by 0.04m. Kyle won the hammer throw with a mark of 51.86m, winning by nearly 1.70m.

Ero Doce and
Akintunde Akinyemi both finished runner-up in their respective events of the 800m and high jump.
Anna Tyan came in fourth in the high jump.
The day before, the Lions and Lady Lions were at the Missouri Southern Last Chance Meet. Mlambo won the long jump and
Alex Armstrong was first in the javelin.
Also on the men's side, Doce was second in 800m, and Akinymi was third in the high jump. On the women's side, Tyan was second in the high jump, Kyle was second in the hammer, and Smith was third in the long jump.

Lindenwood will learn this week with student-athletes will qualify for the NCAA Division II National Championships. That event will begin on May 24 in Bradenton, Fla.
