The Lindenwood women's golf team opened its fall season with a 12th-place finish at the UIndy Fall Invitational on Tuesday afternoon. The two-round tournament featured 15 teams, and was held at the Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel, Ind.

The Lions began the tournament with a first-round score of 325, and sat in 12th-place after the first round of competition. Despite lowering its score by 13 strokes during the tournament's final round, Lindenwood was unable to move up the leaderboard, and completed the event in 12th place. UIndy won the tournament by nine strokes over second-place, Missouri-St. Louis.

Yolanda Rotzinger was Lindenwood's highest-finisher, tying for 22nd place. Rotzinger fired scores of 77 and 76 during her two rounds of play to pace the Lions.

Dakota Limkemann tied for 29th place, and finished -1 on the tournament's par-three holes, tied for the second-best mark among all competitors. Limkemann opened the tournament with a first-round score of 80, before posting a final-round 74, the team's lowest single-round score during the event.

Maggie Bryant and Kayleigh Stevens Perez each tied for 66th place. Bryant led Lindenwood with five birdies during her two rounds.

Josefina Haupt and Reagan Snavely also competed for the Lions.

Lindenwood will return to action on September 24-25 at the MIAA Fall Preview. The tournament will be held at the Mozingo Lake Golf Course in Maryville, Mo.
