The Lindenwood women's golf team played to a first-place finish at the Maryville Spring Invitational on Sunday afternoon at the Aberdeen Golf Club in Eureka, Mo. The tournament victory was the second of the spring season for the Lions.
Yolanda Rotzinger was the tournament's top performer, completing the two-round tournament in first place.
Lindenwood posted a first-round score of 303 on Saturday, before concluding the event with a score of 312 on Sunday. The Lions two-round score of 615 bested second-place, William Jewell by 29 strokes.
Rotzinger posted back-to-back rounds of 75 to bring her two-round total to 150, as she earned her highest individual finish of the season. Rotzinger tied for the tournament lead with 22 pars and ranked second among all golfers with five birdies.
Maggie Bryant tied for second place, shooting a 154 during her two rounds.
Dakota Limkemann tied for fourth place after her score of 155, while
Josefina Haupt tied for sixth place following her score of 156.
Natalie Long landed one stroke in back of Haupt, earning sole possession of seventh place with a score of 157.
Reagan Snavely shot a 163 to tie for 11th place.
Alexandra Wheeler and
Kayleigh Stevens Perez also competed for the Lions.
Lindenwood will conclude its regular-season schedule on April 8-9 at the Trition Invitational in St. Charles, Mo.
