The Lindenwood women's golf team concluded the Emerald Coast Classic on Monday in Destin, Fla. The Lions finished in 10th place, while
Josefina Haupt shot a 12-over par for the three rounds to earn a tie for ninth place.
DAY TWO OVERVIEW
Haupt made just one birdie on the day, but compiled a total of 14 pars in the final round of the tournament. The Cypress Bay product closed out the two-day tournament just seven strokes back from the leader. Haupt was second in the entire field for her even-par average on par-3 holes.
Noelia Rodriguez Chicote posted a 77 on Monday, resulting in a tie for 36th place.
Addasyn Zeller closed out here three-round tournament on a high note, as she shot a 78 in the final round. Zeller shot back-to-back scores in the 80's on day one, before registering a 7-over par on Monday. Lindenwood posted a 309 in the third round, as no team in the field scored a sub-300 score in the final round.
DAY ONE OVERVIEW
Lindenwood shot a 322 in the first round, before bouncing back with a 309 in the second set of 18 holes. Haupt led the Lions with a 152, which is just nine strokes back from the tournament leaders as she was tied for 20th place. Haupt shot an eight-over in her first round, but responded with a strong second round that ended with a two-over par.
All three of Haupt's birdies on the day came in the second round, which was the most for the Lions on day one.
McKenna Montgomery shot a 157 on the first day, while Rodriguez Chicote posted a 158. Montgomery was unable to register a birdie during her two rounds, but maintained scored in the 70's with 24 pars. Rodriguez Chicote posted 21 pars during her 36 holes played, but she was able to birdie a par-5 in the middle of her second round to finish one stroke back of Montgomery. Each of the five Lindenwood golfers shot better scores in the second round, as Haupt had a team-best six-stroke improvement.
