The Lindenwood women's golf team took second place at the Midwest Intercollegiate Invitational on Saturday in Warrensburg, Mo. The Lions posted a score of 628, while
Josefina Haupt registered a 148 across her two rounds to take second place.
DAY TWO OVERVIEW
Haupt matched her first round score with another score of 74 on the second day. Haupt compiled three birdies in her third round, including two on par-3 holes. The average score of 2.92 on par-3 holes by Haupt led the field, while her five total birdies tied for the second-best among the 108 golfers.
McKenna Montgomery and
Noelia Rodriguez Chicote each posted an 80 on Tuesday, which tied for 13
th in the tournament.
DAY ONE OVERVIEW
Haupt fired a score of 74 in round one, which placed her in a tie for first place. Haupt surrendered a bogey on hole one, but bounced back to record two birdies with 12 pars for the remainder of the round. Montgomery and Rodriguez Chicote each registered a 78 on Monday, as they ended day one in a tie for 12th place. Montgomery tallied just one birdie on the day, while Rodriguez Chicote birdied two of the par-5 holes on the front nine.
Alexis Montgomery scored a 79 in her opening round, good for a tie in 15th place. Montgomery birdied one hole on Monday, but stayed in contention as she was five strokes back heading into round two. As a team, the Lions registered an average score of 5.28 on par-5 holes to lead the field. Haupt was the only golfer in round one to average a sub-par score on par-3 holes.
