St. Charles, Mo.- The Lindenwood women's lacrosse team has officially announced its entire 2023 schedule for its first campaign in NCAA Division I.
The Lions will play 17 regular season games, hosting seven at home. Under the reign of Jack Cribbin, the head coach of the 2021 Lindenwood Division II National Championship team, the Lions will open up their Division I slate at home, facing non-conference opponent, the University of California Golden Bears on February 10, 2023, at 6:00 p.m.
The Black and Gold will open up open conference play in the Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) on March 31 at 2:00 p.m. central to play against the Queens University of Charlotte Royals in Charlotte, N.C. The Lions will finish their first regular season campaign at Kennesaw State University at 11:00 a.m. central in Kennesaw, Ga.
The Lions 2023 roster will return four of the top five leading scorers on the team in 2022, the IWLCA National Goalkeeper of the Year, and six transfer students. Attacker Junior Logann Eldredge, the second-leading scorer for the Lions, posted 61 points in her sophomore season, coming from 40 goals and 21 assists. Attacker Paige Sutton returns to the Lions lineup after posting 40 points in 2022. Senior Midfielder Emma Arnold will return to the Lions roster after accumulating 39 points, 26 groundballs, 28 caused turnovers, and 33 draw controls in her junior campaign. Senior Midfielder Hennessey Evans will return to the roster after scoring 37 points in 2022.
At the helm on the defensive side, the Lions return the IWLCA National Goalkeeper of the Year in 2022 and all-Region goalkeeper Eleanor Kast. Kast put up 123 saves in 2022, boasting a 14-5 record starting in 19 of the 20 games and having a 9.13 GAA.
Transfers students that will suit up for the Lions squad this year are Isabella Rulapaugh, Brennan Paddy, Jennifer Williams, Elisabeth Ralph, Madison Hare, and Sam Irwin.
