The Lindenwood women's golf team closed out the fall portion of its schedule with a tie for seventh at the Braun Intercollegiate in Evansville, Ind. The Lions had a combined score of 653 as a team.
OVERVIEW
In round one, Lindenwood shot a 331 as a team, led by
Noelia Rodriguez Chicote who carded an opening round 79. Chicote used the help of two birdies to get to that score, tied for the 10
th most in the field. She registered a two-over on the back nine. Not far behind her in the opening round was
Paula Mariana Sanchez who shot an 83. The Colombia native played her par 3s well, shooting at even par on such holes. As a team, the Lions sat in ninth place after day one.
Lindenwood improved its team score by nine strokes in the second round, shooting a 322, once again led by Rodriguez Chicote who shot an 80.
Andrea Alvarez also carded an 80 in the second round and she had two birdies on the back nine. As a team across the two-day tournament, Lindenwood led the field with 6 total birdies. Sanchez, along with
Jamie Daniels each shot an 81, followed by
Laura Sanchez (82) and
Kassidy Hull (86) who rounded out the lineup for the Lions.
