The Lindenwood women's golf team finished in seventh place at the NKU Spring Invitational, compiling a score of 628 (317, 311). The 311 in the second round is the lowest combined total put together by Lindenwood this season.
OVERVIEW
The Lions shot a 317 as a team on day one, wrapping up the opening 18 in eighth place.
Kassidy Hull led the way among Lindenwood golfers, sitting in a tie for 22nd place after carding a first round 77. Hull ad a pair of birdies in round one, which paced Lindenwood golfers.
Paula Mariana Sanchez and
Noelia Rodriguez Chicote also had a strong first round, sitting inside the top 35 after the opening day.
Sanchez continued her strong play into the second round, firing and even par 71 across the second 18. The Columbia, South America native compiled 14 pars on the day, bringing her total to 27 for the tournament, second most of any golfer in the field. The performance vaulted her 21 spots up the leaderboard, as she finished in 12th place. Rodriguez Chicote compiled a 76, her second lowest round of the year on Tuesday, behind three birdies on the final 18. Overall, Lindenwood finished in 7th place.
The 71 shot by Sanchez was the lowest score turned in by a Lindenwood golfer so far this year.
