The Lindenwood women's golf team took sixth place at the UMSL Spring Invite at Norwood Hills Country Club in St. Louis, Mo. The Lions shot a 942 as a team, just six shots behind fourth place. The Lindenwood "B" team finished in 13th.
OVERVIEW
Lindenwood opened the tournament shooting a 320 in round one, paced by
Paula Mariana Sanchez and
Kassidy Hull who each carded a 79. Hull along with
Becca Oertel recorded a pair of birdies across the first 18. The Lions improved by eight strokes as a team in round two, aided by
Noelia Rodriguez Chicote who fired an impressive one-over 72. The senior carded four-straight birdies on the front nine and six total for the round. That performance put her in a tie for seventh after the opening day.
On the final day, Hull continued her strong play, earning four birdies across the final 18 holes. Rodriguez Chicote and
Addasyn Zeller were the other two Lindenwood players to record multiple birdies on the day. The B team was paced by Mackenzie McCoy who finished in a tie for 35th.
Paula Mariana Sanchez finished with the third most pars in the field at 35.as her and Rodriguez Chicote both finished inside the top 20.
