The Lindenwood women's golf team earned a top three finish at the Big O Classic, compiling a team score of 950 (307-316-327) at Oak Hills Country Club in Omaha, Neb.
OVERVIEW
The Lions opened the tournament with a team score of 307, their third lowest round as a group so far this season. That effort was led by
Paula Mariana Sanchez and
Meredith Colby who each shot a 76, putting them in a tie for eighth after 18 holes.
Raegan Etnyre played solid golf in her Lindenwood debut, carding a 77, including back-to-back birdies on 17 and 18.
Andrea Alvarez recorded a 78, aided by five birdies on the back nine.
Paula Sanchez led the Lions, shooting a 73 as she had 11 pars during her round. Alvarez carded a 79, including an eagle on the par-4 16
th. Coming in just behind them was
Jamie Daniels and
Isabella Buckley who each shot an 82. Overall, Lindenwood registered a team score of 316 during the second round and sat in third place after 36 holes.
Lindenwood shot a 327 as a team in the final round, led by Alvarez who carded a 79. Coming in just behind her was Etnyre who fired an 82, followed by Sanchez and Buckley with an 83. Sanchez finished her tournament tied for eighth and the Lions closed out the Big O Classic in third place.
