HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Lindenwood beach volleyball will head to the third annual AVCA Beach National Championships in Huntsville, Ala. at The John Hunt Park Sand Volleyball Complex. The Lions were one of 64 teams invited to this year's event.

The pairs championship includes the top pairs in the country and the top performers from many of the beach programs. Based upon the spring season, Lindenwood qualified for this year's event after making the Ohio Valley Conference Championship match last April with a 16-10 overall record.

The format is designed to include Division I, Division II, and eventually Division III schools. It features three days of competition for all 64 pairs. Lindenwood is one of three OVC schools to qualify for this year's event including OVC Champion UT Chattanooga and wild card selection UT Martin.

At this year's event head coach Alli Duckworth has selected Annalie McWhorter and Katie Bockhorst to compete in the field of 64 pairs. As the 64th-seed, Lindenwood will take on the #1 seed TCU Horned Frogs on Friday, Nov. 15th at 9:00 a.m. CT. The Lions will then have the opportunity to play either USC or UAB depending of the result in their opening match at 12:00 p.m. CT on Friday.

The John Hunt Park Sand Volleyball Complex is a 428-acre site in the heart of the city located at John Hunt Park, 2295 Airport Road SW, Huntsville. This beautiful state of the art 15-court facility was built in 2019 with a focus on athlete safety and experience as a main focus. That key attribute was combined with an eye toward amenities that lends itself to premier beach volleyball competitions.
