The Lindenwood track and field team had a strong start to the indoor season, competing at the Saluki Fast Start on Friday and Saturday in Carbondale, Ill. The Lions posted multiple top finishes and personal bests.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Long Jump – Two Lions finished in the top six.
Christelle Barafundi took the top spot with a mark of 5.63 meters, while
Mary Elliott finished sixth, jumping 5.25 meters. For Barafundi, it was a personal best
Shot Put –
Aliyah Robertson pushed a mark of 13.25 meters, taking first, while
Avery Shaw ended with a mark of 11.97, placing fifth in her first meet as a Lion
Triple Jump –
Mary Elliott took the top spot with a mark of 11.34m
Pole Vault –
Alessandra Obrist posted a mark of 3.30m, placing ninth
60m Dash –
Chanel Honeywell placed fifth with a time of 7.82
800m Run –
Nyah Hope and Gabriella Evangelista placed eighth and ninth respectively with times of 2:33.29 and 2:40.83
Pentathlon –
Kinsey Dueker (3395) placed fourth.
Kylie Stapleton (3154) placed seventh
